Thesis:

To myself, beauty is emotion, a moment in life where that when you look back on it you have a realization of what’s really important in life. As for my community at UNE we see beauty as growth and learning hopefully leading us to some sort of end goals like a degree or job.

Claim: Beauty can be a memory or it can be the process of little things that make up something beautiful.

Quote: we can’t hope to see why beauty matters to us unless we pay attention to them both (form/sense drive). If we want to understand beauty, we can’t just talk about the things we find beautiful. We have to talk about our lives

Claim: Beauty is all dependent on one’s perspective.

Quote: “how it made me feel and that fact that I overcame something”

Quote: “and like you get that feeling….”

Claim: One of the more popular theories about the science behind what is beautiful is the what is good, is beautiful theory.

Quote: the perception of beauty is mainly based on the subjective construction of valence based on abstract social meaning and values. Prior studies have found smiling human faces13with direct eye gaze14, people with good inner character15,16,17, and short sentences18 and scenes19 describing morally-positive actions can elicit a sense of beauty and produce enhanced activation of aesthetic reward systems due to the positive social meanings associated with these stimuli. These studies imply that aesthetic evaluation is a subjective construction and support the “what is good is beautiful” theory.

Use questions (why? so what? how? etc.) to make those claim sentences perform more thinking in regards to your argument. This will help your essay as a whole.
